New Lemonade quences thirst for Traditional Tastes

April 2009

Family-owned business Gran Stead’s has launched “Gran Stead’s Traditional Still Lemonade” in response to calls from customers thirsty for a refreshing alternative to fizzy drinks.    Chris and Rosemary Knox, the husband-and-wife team behind the new drink, are delighted with the feedback.

“We’re receiving some tremendous comments,” says Chris.  “We’ve been visiting retailers with samples and many of them place an order there and then.”

Gran Stead’s, based at Mile Oak Farm in Portslade near Brighton, is best known for its Non-Alcoholic Ginger Wine, and it was in talking to customers that the Knox’s noticed a gap in the market.

Explains Chris: “We knew we wanted to develop a “still” lemonade with a truly distinctive, tangy taste.  So our recipe uses a generous quantity of real lemon juice and like our ginger drink is absolutely free of artificial colourings or flavourings.”

The lemonade can currently be supplied to shops in Hampshire, Kent, Surrey and London.  Chris plans to establish a national network of retailers.

For details of stockists, or to become one, contact Gran Stead’s on 01273 231152 or visit the website: www.GranSteadsGinger.co.uk  The website also contains a calendar of farmers markets.  The retail price is around £2.00 for a 75cl bottle.
